THE UNITY
Rev. Peter Tuchyna
In the past months, we witnessed the increase of evil doings in every area of life around the world, and also the attempt by many governments to deal with it.
As children of God we know that the methods used by the governments of many nations will not bring the expected result. But there is one thing we can observe and learn.
When some nations united their resources, their skill, their knowledge, their finances, their intelligence and military might, they were able to identify the source of danger and to prohibit a thousands of individuals from carrying out their wrong intentions.
God revealed unto us the power of unity. The power of being one minded.
We are familiar with the story about the building of the tower of Babel. The Lord declared, “ Behold, the people is one, and they have all one laguage; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” (Genesis 11:6).
The Lord declared that where there is unity, people would accomplish their will.
It was tragic that the Babylonians united to do evil.
Thousands of years later another group of people were united under the direction of Jesus. ….”they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,….and they were filled with the Holy Ghost.”(Acts 2:2-4).
“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart…. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
(Acts 2:46-47).
There are many capable, talented and strong willed people among the children of God with good intentions. The Word Of God revealed unto us one from many other principles that:
“The Heavenly kingdom has no place for individualism and separation”.
The Word of God declares: “His will is not accomplished by might, neither by power, but by the Spirit of God”. (Zechariah 4:6).
Unity with God and unity with brethren is the key to accomplish the Commission, which Jesus gave to His disciples to declare the Gospel to every creature.
Many walked away from the sheepfold of unity, despising the leadership and the leading of the Holy Spirit. After years of separation from the “tabernacle of God” and children of God, they are fruitless, defeated, bitter and tired with spiritual and physical loses they did not have to have.
The call of God is the call to unity. It is time to recover it all!
It is time to uplift the hands of “Moses”, who represents the spiritual leadership chosen by God.
It is time to seek the lost, to strengthen the diseased, to heal that which is sick, to bound up that which is broken, to bring back that which was driven away and to sought that which was lost. (Ezekiel 34:4).
The task is greater than any man may carry himself. Let’s share the burden and the victory together.
Let love and unity fill our hearts as we consecrate our lives a fresh to the service of Jesus Christ, forgiving each other and esteeming each other more than ourselves.
No one tribe of Israel, no one family, neither one individual was allowed to settle down until entire nation of Israel possessed their inheritance (Numbers 32:17-23).
They received the promise of God as a nation and they had to conquer it as a nation.
If they would deviate from that principle it was considered a sin against God, which would find them out – v 23.
It was God who spake to Joshua after many years and declared: “thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed”.
(Joshua 13:1).
Joshua’s response to his people is recorded in Joshua 18:3: “How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?”
It is a blessing of God to have God’s chosen leaders who are the oracles of God, declaring His will and giving the direction to his church.
God has revealed his will to us on innumerable occasions in the past. God has spoken about the revival and the harvest to come. We were encouraged and exited (for a while). We need to respond to such call and to enter into his harvest.
Jesus is remaining us, that we are old (some of us) and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
Joshua described the reason for it in his generation. What reason we have in our generation for not possessing more “spiritual land?” Did we settle down before Jordan in fruitful and comfortable land? Did we let the rest of the tribes, who do not possess their inheritance yet, to fight on their own?
Let’s accept the challenge as the children of God. Precious saints, ministers, leaders, and Bible School graduates.
We are looking for the blessed hope, that Jesus will appear and take home his bride at any time.
What is your involvement right now in the Lord’s kingdom? Where is your heart? Where are your thoughts? Where is your interest? Where do you apply the gifts and the talents, God gave you for a very specific purpose? How seriously are you taking the words of Jesus to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven?” (Matthew 6:20)
We cannot serve and please two masters, God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24).
It is time to make greater commitment to God. God is your heritage. He is your reward. He is your “superannuation” and your security. Work while there is a day. Respond while there is an invitation. It is the last invitation at “eleventh” hour for our generation to enter into the Lord’s vineyard before the closing of the “business” hours. (Matthew 20: 1-10).
“And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12: 29-32).
Whose report shall you believe? His reward shall you receive.
