Out of Love or Duty?

Hosea 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...

One of the greatest reasons and objections many people have against churches is the hypocritical life of some believers and a status of irrelevance to the needs of souls.
There is no need to tell an injured person that he/she is injured.
There is no need to tell a parent that their child is lost when they are lost.
There is no need to tell a sinner that he/she is a sinner and at the same time not show a way how to get out of it.

The reality is that every individual is always making or taking the best choice. Do you believe this? Very seldom are there individuals with self destructive behaviour.

The tragedy is that their best choice does lead them to destruction. Why?

Every chess player is familiar with and knows the possible movement of every piece.
The problem arises when the opponent player ( spiritual enemy) make a move that the first player is unable to move. 'Chess mate'.

Such is the life of many. They were forced to standstill. They cannot move. Its not good to say what the castle can do, what the knight can do, what the queen can do, what the king can do – for right now they are stuck. The enemy blocks their every movement.

They need to be shown what manoeuvres, what movements to do to recover from their position with the least amount of loss.

That's the reason why they are coming to the church. They need to hear how to recover from their spiritual defeat, broken marriage, broken relationships with others and God.

There is no time for superficial talk and time wasters.
There is no time for shallow friendship.
There is no time given to accusers, judgment and condemnation.

Jesus did not come to condemn- John 3:17 nor to judge.
Jesus came to rescue the entire mankind as well as every individual – whosoever will accept him.
1 John 3:8 for this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.

John 10:10 – Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundant.
John 14:12 – verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these.....
John 15:7 – If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
There are many souls in various churches and denominations around the world who with all honesty called and prayed and attended services and participated in many activities but they are saying that they did not experience the fulfilment, the change, the acceptance, the anointing, the deep personal relationship somehow they sense, they could and should have.

I know by the Spirit of the Lord that at this meeting is more than one soul experiencing it.
The Lord Jesus is desirous to minister to us in a special way and to deliver someone out of the gridlock of bitterness, condemnation, unforgiveness, bad habits, oppression, and a sinful lifestyle.

Is here anybody who knows why God created both the angels and mankind?
Is here anybody, who knows what is the difference between the angels and mankind?

Do angels have their own will?
Is there any record in the Bible that an angel would say to God I love you?
Any record that God said to angel I love you?
Do angels have feelings? Can they smile? Or crack a joke?

What the angels do – they do out of duty!
They have their own will – but out of duty.
What they do, they do to the uttermost perfection. They are perfect and they are holy.
They are not created in God's own image.

Man is! Created in GODS image.
God created man in His own image for relationship of love and in love.
Therefore God commanded to man: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul.

God does not accept anything from a man out of duty. The angels are performing far superior jobs out of duty.

Whatever I have done, you have done out of duty – we have wasted our time, our energy, our resources and our finances.
Like whatever was not done with all your heart but only in a partial way is not accepted by God.

Partiality of heart is a result of lukewarmness.
Lukewarmness walks together with double mindedness.
Double mindedness is not a walk of faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.

The only relationship God is looking for is a relationship of love.
John 3:16 – for God so loved the world...
Jesus was not sacrificed out of duty.
The Word of God does not declare that because God created a man – He had a duty of care and as a result of it God had to intervene.
For God so loved our souls...(world).

Some are seeking God out of fear. They do not want to be punished. They are looking out for a way of escapism.
They don't love God. They fear God. They just want to meet the criteria to escape from the judgment.
Any activity, any involvement, any participation out of duty is not accepted.

From the very beginning God was teaching man the principle of love.
With the Ten Commandments, which reflected God's expectation from man who was created in His image – God also gave a more powerful principle of sacrifice as in the avenue of love for forgiveness.
God was not and is not interested in judgment – therefore with the Ten Commandments came also the principle of a sacrifice in the case of a trespass that the judgement – punishment does not need to take place.
God revealed himself in love for God is Love.

Is it possible to mishandle the presence of the Lord?

Without reverence, half-heartedly
Taking for granted, offering Him second best

1 Kings 8:9 – there was nothing in the ark, save the 2 tablets of stones
1. Pot of manna – the supernatural provision / sustenance
2. Aaron's rod – the supernatural intervention/ confirmation of God's presence, personal anointing.

Malachi 1-2-3.
Offering out of duty – second grade
1. Become cursed 9 done not of love whole heartily. They become tired of work, involvement, without joy, without refreshing spirit.

If there is anybody here being a short or long term believer with feelings and an experience that there were moments – instances – events – activities, sacrifices brought on your part and you know that it was not accepted, it was not blessed – let us for a moment search our hearts.

We grieve when we have some losses.

When my first wife Elizabeth passed away and on one particular occasion I was emotional and I felt lonely and I was crying, the Lord spoke very gently to me.
Peter – have you ever cried so sincerely and so bitterly and deeply because of my sufferings on the cross of Calvary. Do you love me so much that you grieve over my grief, over my sufferings, over the sufferings of my children and lost souls?

Let us take the opportunity and present ourselves at the altar of the Lord.
All the anguish, mockery, rejection, humiliation, the weight of sin of every individual placed upon Him – for your and my salvation.

Even if He would never heal my physical body from now on
If He would not provide rain and bread and the air enough to breath anymore – He has done already more than enough.

Jesus secured my, your eternity.

Would you like to lift up your voice and express your love to Him and for Him.
Would you allow the Lord to speak to you? To mould you, to change you, to transform you.

The economy does not matter.
The politics does not matter.
The fame, wealth, comfort does not matter.
We are completed in Him. His grace is sufficient for us

Let us love Him.
