What is in your hand and who owns your wealth?
Rev. Peter Tuchyna.
Exodus 3:16-22, Exodus 4:1-5.
We are living in a generation, which increased its wealth and investment and never before in the history of mankind there were so many millionaires and billionaires, well off and wealthy individuals and families as there are today.
From the beginning of creation man understood the principle of commerce, accumulation and exchange of goods to build up and to secure more than to satisfy ones needs.
Also, never before there were so many poor, underfed, hungry and dying people than it is in our generation.
1/3 of the worlds population is well off.
1/3 of the population is just hardly making it from day to day.
1/3 of the population is constantly underfed and dying from starvation.
What is it that makes the difference between one individual and another individual, between one family and another family, between a tribe and another tribe and between a nation and another nation?
Some were born into a humble environment and family and they grew up in ignorance.
Some lost the drive, ambitions and desire for a better chance in life for they received one too many knockouts and punch ups and they perceive that the effort for a change is not worth all the struggle and pain.
Yet their are some who made the effort and have striven for mastery. It appears that they have done almost everything right. They defied and denied themselves the comfort and all what they acquired they put into the hand of specialists and advisers expecting a good return.
How many of us have heard of or know someone who has invested in lifelong savings, superannuation, family heritage just to find out that their accountant or financial adviser and planner, or the company and institution went bankrupt and they lost everything.
How much trust and confidence have they put into the hands and life of someone who is supposed to look after their wealth.
How many have misled, misappropriated and mismanaged somebody elses wealth, property and lives?
This is almost a daily occurrence in one place or another in our generation.
Who owns your wealth?
Who is looking after your wealth?
Who is managing your wealth?
How secured is your wealth and its return?
Are you surprised that I am asking you these questions?
Do you think and do you feel that you have no wealth at all?
If you take into consideration the value of your talents, abilities, skill, knowledge, experience, ambitions and time, they are insignificant in comparison to the real treasure and wealth you posses right now.
Matthew 16:26 Jesus said:for what is a man profited, if he would gain the whole world and loose his soul? Or what should a man give in exchange for his soul?
Do you know any man or women who would invest any amount of thousands, or tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars and never ever pay attention, never find time, never ask about their portfolio how their investment is doing financially?
Does anybody know somebody like that?
How many Individuals are on the outside who never ask one question, who owns, manages their soul and what is the progress?
Many countries were in the past and are still very rich in mineral resources like gold, diamonds, silver, oil, coal, iron ore and others yet the local population were not aware of it at all. They did not recognise the the wealth. They did not know how to process it and what to do with it. Often foreign countries and companies were and still are controlling and exploiting that wealth, while the local people live in poverty and hunger.
Jesus declared that entire the world and its content and resources, with its power, might, glory, glamor and glitter, cannot be compared to the worth and wealth of one soul.
Therefore the Word of God speaks about the lost soul, lost sons and daughters.
Something that is lost is not in its proper place where it should be and cannot be of good use.
We marvel, when we realise what the God of Glory has done. The Creator, the Master of universe who by the power of His own will and Word called things into its visible and invisible existence, creating the entire universe has made the effort to rescue the invaluable soul of man.
Often the very man does not recognize the involvement of God in his/her life and does not recognise the value of their own soul.
Who owns your soul? Who owns your wealth?
Who controls and exploits your life, your talents, your time and abilities, even finances?
Who controls your emotions and your involvement?
Who dictates how you live, what you do and what is the purpose of your life?
Is it really you?
Or was your life hijacked and somebody else is manipulating your entire life and being?
Is this really who you are, what you appear to be or have you become an exploited servant not in control of your own life?
Are you who you want to be or do you hope that one day things will be different and in the mean time you are starving in spiritual poverty?
Jesus said: if the Son therefore shall make you free, he shall be free indeed John 8:36.
It is the presence of God through His Holy Spirit that liberates your soul and brings your soul back to be able to exercise your own will.
There is a power in repentance. The confession of sins and the desire for a life with God is opening an avenue for a new life. From that moment on God is giving you liberty and authority to make decisions on your own without blackmail and extortion of the wicked one controlling you.
Therefore they who follow the pattern of the New Birth experience, having repented of their sins and being baptised in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, were freed and liberated from the power of sin by Jesus, they make a conscious decision to live by the Word of Jesus, allowing Him to guide and direct their lives.
We recognise the truthfulness of the Word of Jesus that without Him we would be lost and overtaken by the temptation and sin, placed into spiritual slavery and lost for eternity.
Jesus recognises and is aware of man's longing desire for spiritual liberty, therefore He said: if any man thirst, let him come to me John 7:37.
Jesus is not speaking about physical thirst. Verse 38, declares, he that believeth on me as the Scripure hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters.
I am the resurrection and life, declared Jesus.
With Jesus in us we have that life in us.
Their are two churches in the book of Revelation, Jesus spoke about the crown of life.
Rev. 2:8-11 Smyrna, fear not of those things, which thou will suffer( as a result of serving Jesus), be thou faithful unto death and I will give the a crown of life. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Faithfulness to Jesus even in the face of suffering brings promise of the crown of life.
Rev. 3:7 Philadelphia, I know thy works...thou hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I come quickly, hold fast, which thou hast that no man take thy crown.
Smyrna had promise of the crown of life, if it remains faithful to the Word of God in its purity.
Philadelphia has the crown of life, because they have not denied my name (the name of Jesus). Hold fast that no man take your crown.
Do not allow concern of man's reaction, man's approval, man's favour and friendship to deny the name of Jesus and to rob you of eternal life, which the crown of life represents.
Smyrna is the beginning of the walk with God. Philadelphia is the conclusion, behold, I come quickly.
Do not deny the name of Jesus in anything, not even in water baptism.
Therefore you are restless and experiencing a battleground in your mind. It comes down to a single decision between either having favor with God or favor with man.
I present to you life and death, the Word of God declares. Please, choose life.
Who soever does not have the Spirit of Christ is none of His.
Do you have a crown of life in your life or is there something still missing?
Come, accept the invitation of Jesus and spend time with him. Talk to Him, surround your entire life with Him, invite Him into your life.
Allow the presence of the Holy Spirit to minister to you. If you truly love Jesus, obey His Word.
Pray for the wisdom from above, do not lean upon your own understanding. Let the Son set you free so you"ll be free indeed.
